- Performs a wide variety of semi-skilled maintenance activities (e.g. HVAC maintenance and repair, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
- Performs a wide variety of general maintenance activities (e.g. periodic HVAC filter changes, replacing light bulbs, painting, maintaining gutters, repairing broken locks, deliveries and assemblies, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
- Cleans agency buildings and grounds areas as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of providing an effective working/learning environment preventing damage and/or limiting liability exposure.
- Assures semi-annually safety inspections of office facilities and monthly safety inspections of all other facilities and job sites to ensure a safe environment and compliance with safety standards are preformed. Reviews and reports findings to the Deputy Division Director.
- Responsible for playground maintenance and upkeep, mow, edge, and weed eat at designated locations.
- Responsible for ensuring that all receipts for equipment, supplies, gasoline and repairs are submitted as required.
- Responsible for applying preventative measures to structures and equipment to reduce the risk of future problems.
- Tracks and schedules required inspections for all centers and maintains required documentation.
- Remains knowledgeable of all policies and procedures of the corporation and in FEMA and OSHA standards.
- Responsible for fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Participates in the development of and is responsible for the successful implementation of procedures for the maintenance and repair of all Agency facilities, equipment, and vehicles. Ensures that all work orders are processed and completed in a timely manner.
- Prepares plans and specifications for contracted work and adheres to Agency Policies to secure approved services.
- Ensures that all Agency Facilities and vehicles are safe and well maintained.
- Initiate purchase orders and bids for the department in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
- Verifies, approves, and routes invoices and purchase orders for the safety and maintenance department to the accounting department in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
- Plan and direct inventory and asset control for assigned equipment and supplies; prepares reports as required by the accounting department
- Responsible for emergency repairs to facilities and equipment that may require work outside of normal work hours.
- Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Required
- Three years of prior experience in facility maintenance or janitorial work is preferred.
- Understanding the six core competencies of risk management and the skills and ability to apply them in the non-profit environment.

- High School diploma or GED
- Education can be substituted with a minimum of 5 years experience in facilities maintenance work.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Must pass PRS background check
- Commercial Driver's License

- Analytical ability to detect and resolve errors.
Light to medium duties include standing, walking, reaching, bending, talking for up to (8) hours a day. Requires ability to lift large and heavy equipment, parts, supplies, and boxes throughout shift. Must have ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance and to push and pull up to 150 pounds with appropriate equipment. Requires significant demands on these physical requirements throughout the entire work shift and requires tasks to be performed in all types of weather conditions.
